Pineapple Rasam
I tasted pineapple rasam in some functions. One day I bought one pineapple and I decided to make at least three recipes. First I made pineapple kesari,that came out well. Next I tried pineapple pachadi, that also came out well. Finally I tried pineapple rasam that was also very nice.
Let us see how to make pineapple rasam.
Pineapple Rasam Ingredients:
Pineapple - 4 slices
Cooked tuvar dal - ½ cup
Tomato - 1
Cumin - ½ tsp
Pepper - ½ tsp
Garlic flakes - 4
Turmeric powder - ¼ tsp
Rasappodi - 2 tsp
Curry leaves - few
Mustard - ¼ tsp
Asafoetida - 2 pinch
Red chilli - 2
Salt - to taste
Oil - 2 tsp
Pineapple Rasam Method:
Grind garlic, cumin and pepper coarsely in a mixie. Grind 2 pieces of pineapple. Chop tomato finely.
Chop pineapple into cubes. Add ground cumin, pineapple, turmeric, rasappodi , half the tomato and water in a pan and boil.
Heat oil in a frying pan and add mustard, asafoetida, redchilli, curry leaves, half tomato and chopped pineapple and sauté for few minutes.
Add this to the boiling rasam. Add cooked tuvar dal and allow it to boil for some time. Add coriander leaves and serve with rice.
I served with rice and javvarisi vadam.
Note:
Add the ingredients according to your taste.
Adjust the spice level according to pineapple taste.
