Pirandai Kulambu

Ingredients
Pirandai- 1 cup chopped
Small onion- 25
Garlic cloves- 10
Tomato- 1
Curry leaves- Few
Gingelly oil- 2 tablsp
Urad dal- ¼ tsp
Mustard- ¼ tsp
Cumin- ¼ tsp
Fenugreek- few
Tamarind- small marble size
Salt- to taste
Asafoetida- ¼ tsp
Red chilli- 2
Sambar powder- 3 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp

Method
Peel fiber of the
pirandai and cut into small pieces. Peel
onion and garlic and chop finely. Chop tomato. Heat gingelly oil in a frying
pan and add mustard, cumin, fenugreek and urad dal.
When it splutters add onion,curry
leaf and garlic. Saute till transparent. Add pirandai and sauté 10 to 15
minutes.
Then add tomato. Add sambar powder, turmeric powder and salt. Soak
tamarind in little water.
Add tamarind water and allow it to boil till oil
separates.
Boil it in the low flame. Serve hot with rice.
