Thattapayaru sundal(Karamani sundal)
Thattapayaru or Karamani is also a legume. This sundal is rich in protein. It is known as black eyed peas in English.

Thattapayaru sundal Ingredients:
White thattapayaru - 1 cup
Asafoetida -1/2 tsp
Salt - to taste
Grated coconut - 3 tblsp
Mustard - ½ tsp
Urad dhal - ½ tsp
Curry leaves - few
Oil - 2 tsp
Red chilli - 2
Sundal podi - 1 tsp
For sundal podi:
Malli seed - 1 tsp
Red chilli -3
Kadalai paruppu - 1tsp
Dry roast in a pan and grind in a mixie coarsely.
Thattapayaru sundal Method:
Wash and soak thattapayaru for about 2 hrs. Pressure cook with salt and asafoetida and drain the water. Grate the coconut and take 3 tablespoon.
Heat oil in a pan add mustard, urad dhal, red chilli, and curry leaves.
Then add cooked thattapayaru, grated coconut and sundal podi and mix well and serve.
