How to Cook Basmati Rice
Cooking basmati rice with grainy texture is very easy by practice only. If the rice is new, you can add 1 ½ cup water or else you can add 2 cups. If you soak the rice for more time you can reduce water to about 1 ½ cup for 1 cup rice.
Now let us see how to cook basmati rice
Preparation time - 20 minutes
Cooking time - 15 minutes
Serves - 2
Ingredients:
Basmati Rice - 1 cup
Water - 2 cup
Olive oil or refined oil - 1 tsp
Method:
Soak basmati rice in water for about 20 minutes. Then drain the water completely.
Add soaked rice and water in the pressure cooker and cook for one whistle.
When the steam subsides open the lid and spread the rice in a wide bowl.
Add one tsp oil and fluff it with a fork. You can use this rice for any recipe of your choice.
Note:
I used olive oil. You can use any oil of your choice.
Don’t overcook. One whistle will be sufficient.
I always use India gate super Basmati rice.
