French Onion Soup is a starter type soup which is also known as Onion Soup. The Origin of French Onion Soup is France. French Onion Soup is Ancient in origin and has undergone many changes in the past.

considered to be poor man’s food in the European Continents.
French Onion
Soup is based on meat stock, beef stock or chicken stock and is often served with
small roasted bread pieces known as croutons and cheese on top.

French Onion Soup Ingredients:
White Onion - 2 Nos.
Vegetable Stock Water - 500 ml
Corn Flour - 2 Teaspoons
Pepper Powder - As required
Salt - To Taste
Butter - 1 Table Spoon
Bread Slices - 4 Nos
Grated Cheese - 4 Table Spoon
White Onion - 2 Nos.
Vegetable Stock Water - 500 ml

French Onion Soup Method:
Chop white onion into thin rings. Heat butter in a pan and add the onion rings and
sauté for a while till the rings turn transparent.
Then add the water or the vegetable stock and allow it to boil. Then mix the corn flour in a little water and add and mix well. Once the corn flour turns transparent add the pepper powder and the salt.
Make the Croutons by roasting the bread in a little butter or ghee and keep aside. You can roast in a tava or you can use the oven for this, alternatively you can place the cheese over the bread and microwave for about two minutes in medium power.
Then add the water or the vegetable stock and allow it to boil. Then mix the corn flour in a little water and add and mix well. Once the corn flour turns transparent add the pepper powder and the salt.

Then you can place the croutons in a cup and add
the hot soup and serve.
You can use olive oil instead of butter.
First you can dry roast bread in the microwave for about 2 minutes in medium power. Then you put the cheese over the bread and microwave again for two more minutes.
You can use rusk also.
