 I tried Soft Heart Cookies for valentine’s day. Due to other work I was not able to post.  I searched my hard drive , it was stored in the ready to post file. Now I am quite free. So I decided to post. I saw this recipe in Sharmmis passion. From that time onwards it was in my todo list.

Now let us see how to make Soft heart cookies
Preparation time                             - 20 minutes
Baking time                                  - 10 – 12 minutes
Yield                                            - 66 small heart cookies
Ingredients:
Maida                                            - 1 ½ cup (185gms)
Powdered sugar                               - ¾ cup (100gms)
Baking powder                                 - ½ tsp
Butter                                             - 50 gms
Egg                                                -1
Vanila essence                                 - ¼ tsp
Pink food colour                              - pinch
Rose essence                                    - ¼ tsp
Method;
Add powdered sugar and butter in a bowl and mix it well.

Add egg in an another bowl and beat well.  Add half of the egg to the butter sugar mixture and mix thoroughly.

 Sift maida and baking powder two times. Divide the egg butter mixture in to two parts. Divide maida into two equal parts and add it to the egg mixture.. Add vanilla essence to one part and knead.

  Add pink colour and rose essence to the other part and knead to smooth dough.

If you feel the dough hard you can add egg and knead.Dust with maida and roll using rolling pin. Cut the dough with heart shaped cookie cutter. Grease baking tray with butter and place the cookies in the baking tray.

Pre heat the oven 180 degrees for 10 minutes. Bake it for 10 to 12 minutes or the edges turns golden brown.

Note:
Half to ¾ th egg is enough. So add egg carefully.
If you want marble cookies, you can mix both the dough’s and make.
 Baking time may vary oven to oven. So please keep an eye while baking.
