Samai Paniyaram
Samai is known as little millet in English. Samai paniyaram is an easy recipe. You can make it for breakfast,dinner or evening snack. It goes well with any chutney. kids hesitating to take millet s even love and enjoy samai paniyaram.
Now let us see how to make Samai/ Little Millet Kuzhi Paniyaram
Preparation time - 4 hours and 30 minutes(including soaking time)
Cooking time - 30 minutes
Serves - 3
Ingredients
Samai rice - ½ cup
Red rice - ¼ cup
Urad dal - ¼ cup
Fenugree -1tsp
Salt - as needed
Chopped onion - big1
Oil - 1tblsp
Mustard - ¼ tsp
Green chilly -2 chopped
Urad dal - ¼ tsp
Channa dal - ¼ tsp
Method:
Wash and rinse red rice, samai rice, urad dal and fenugreek two to three times. Soak it for about 4 hours. Then grind it in the mixer with salt.
Keep it for fermentation atleast eight hours. Keep the pan in the stove and add oil, do seasoning with mustard channa dal and urad dal. Now fry the onion nicely then add salt and green chilly till transparent.
Pour this mixture in the batter and mix well. Grease kuzhi paniyaram pan with little oil.Then Pour the batter in the kuzhi.
Then cover the pan with a lid. Turn the other side and cook well.
Serve it with onion kara chutney.
Note:
For more soft, you can add 1 teaspoon javvarisi while soaking samai.
You can grind it in the grinder also.
You can add finely chopped veggies also.
