Chilli Idli / Idli Recipes
Chilli Idli is one recipe which is made out of left out idlies. It is easy to make and nice to Taste. If you do not have left out idlies you can make idlies normally and refrigerate for 15 – 20 minutes and use for this recipe.
The ideal method would be if you have left out idlies prepared in the morning you can make this recipe in the evening and serve as evening snacks to your kids. Your kids will relish them and ask for more. Next time you will make more idlies and make the chilli idli with the left out idlies.
Here goes the Chilli Idli
Chilli Idli Ingredients:
Idli - 4
Onion - 1
Greenchilli - 1
Green capsicum - 4 tblsp (1/2)
Tomato sauce - 2 tsp
Salt - ½ tsp
Ginger garlic paste - ½ tsp
Oil - 3 tsp
Kashmirichilli Powder - ½ tsp
Spring onion - 1 tsp
Chilli Idli Method:
Chop the idlies in to small cubes. Chop onion, green chilli, capsicum and spring onion finely.
Heat oil in a frying pan and add onion and sauté for a few minutes.
Add ginger garlic paste, green chilli and capsicum one by one and sauté till the raw smell goes. Don’t overcook.
Then add tomato sauce and salt and stir. Add Kashmir chilli powder and stir well.
Finally add the idli cubes and stir gently to coat the masala evenly. Sprinkle spring onion and serve.
Note:
Don’t need any side dish for this recipe. If you need you can serve plain curd with salt and roasted cumin powder.
If you want you can deep fry Idli cubes and add. As it will be more oily, I usually add plain idlies.
You can use yellow and red capsicum also.
