Vendakkai is Ladys finger in English. Vendakkai is
one among the few native vegetables of Tamil Nadu. Vendakkai Fry is a dish
which can be made easily and is rich in nutritional value. It has a good amount
of dietary fiber. Vendakkai Fry is a common dish prepared in all homes for
lunch.
Vendakkai is
good for brain development and function, so it is necessary that all kids should
take Vendakkai and Vendakkai Fry is one dish which all children will love.
Vendakkai
Fry Ingredients:
Vendakkai - 250 gms
Onion -1
Garlic - 10 flakes
Curry leaves - A few
Red chilli powder - 1 tsp
Turmeric powder -1/4 tsp
Pepper jeera powder - ½ tsp
Salt - to taste
Oil - 3 tsp

Vendakkai Fry
Method:
Chop onion
and garlic finely. Chop vendakkai in to small round slices. Dry roast ¼ tsp
pepper and ¼ tsp jeera and powder it.
Heat oil in a pan and add chopped onion, curry leaves and garlic and saute for a few minutes. Then add chopped vendakkai and saute for 10 to 15 minutes till its stickiness goes.
Then add salt, turmeric
powder, chilli powder and pepper, jeera powder and saute till the raw smell
goes. Then mix well and switch off the stove and serve.

You can add pepper, jeera powder at last, then only the nice aroma will come.

If you like
tomato, you can add finely chopped tomato next to garlic.
