Palakottai Masala / Poriyal
Chettinad Palakottai Masala / Poriyal
When I was young palakottai were sold in the road side jackfruit vendors. My mother used to buy palakottai in numbers (100 seeds for one rupee) and made with palakottai masala, mandi and palakai (palakai means variety of vegetables) kulmbu. But nowadays it is so rare to see palakottai.  They sell the jack fruit with seeds. During may a jackfruit exhibition was organized at Chennai trade centre. In there they sold palakottai and some other jackfruit products. I bought one packet seeds from there. I asked the recipe to my mother and made. Came out well.
