Double Beans Masala
Double beans is again a vegetable which is found mostly in North India. It is known as lima beans.Now a days it is being sold in big veg shops and departmental stores in Chennai also. If you don’t get fresh ones you can go for the dried ones. This is very rich in protein.
So it is better if you make this recipe in the afternoon for lunch.
Now let us see how to make Double beans Masala
Double Beans Masala Ingredients:
Double beans - 2 cups
Onion - 1
Tomato - 1
Garlic cloves - 6
Chilli powder - 2 tsp
Salt - to taste
Garam masala - ¼ tsp
Oil - 2 tbl sp
Mustard - ¼ tsp
Urad dal - ¼ tsp
Cumin - ¼ tsp
Curry leaves - few
Double Beans Masala Method:
Wash and pressure cook double beans with salt for one whistle.
Chop onion, tomato, garlic cloves finely. Heat oil in a frying pan, add mustard, urad dal and cumin.
when they crackle add onion, tomato and garlic and saute well. Then add chilli powder and salt for onion and tomato only (previously we add salt to double beans) and saute.
Then add cooked double beans with its stalk and curry leaves and close the pan with a lid.
After 5 minutes open the lid and add garam masala and stir well till the water evaporates. I served it with Drumstick sambar and vadams.
