Mochai Sundal
Mochai is known as lima beans in English. Another sundal recipe for coming Navaratri. You can buy all the legumes in advance and plan for Navaratri recipes.
Mochai Sundal Ingredients:
Mochai (Lima Beans) - 1 cup
Asafoetida -1/2 tsp
Salt - to taste
Grated coconut - 3 tblsp
Mustard - ½ tsp
Urad dal - ½ tsp
Curry leaves - few
Oil - 2 tsp
Red chilli - 2
Sundal podi - 1 tsp
For sundal podi:
Malli seed - 2 tsp
Red chilli -5
Kadalai paruppu - 2 tsp (bengal gram)
Dry roast in a pan and grind in a mixie coarsely.
Mochai Sundal Method:
Wash and soak mochai overnight. Pressure cook mochai with salt and asafoetida for 3 to 4 whistles. Drain the water and keep aside.
Heat oil in a pan add mustard, urad dhal, red chilli, and curry leaves.
Grate the coconut and take 3 tablespoon. Then add cooked mochai, grated coconut and sundal podi.
Mix well and serve.
